In Philippians 3, Paul refers to his life before conversion, listing multiple things that allowed him to boast in the flesh, yet Paul boldly claims that it is all “rubbish” compared to knowing Christ Jesus and being found in Him. The Christian life is one of pressing on toward the goal of heavenly rewards.
