The ABLE Ministry serves people of all ages with disabilities. This ministry provides ACCESS to the gospel, community and care; makes a way for every person to BELONG; provides access to instruction so each person can LEARN in a way suited to his or her needs; and EQUIPS people with the good news of a Savior who died for them, loves them and wants a relationship with them. People with disabilities are often left out and pushed to the side, and we want to come alongside people from all walks of life.
Connecting to others and helping them belong to a community.
Supporting each person in a way that highlights their worth and value.
Sharing the gospel and equipping each person specifically.
During our weekend services, we provide one-on-one support and/or inclusion, depending on the needs of the individual. We strive to support both adults and children and get to know each person and his or her needs. We also partner with other ministries, host respite nights and provide community opportunities for parents and family members. Please reach out prior to attending so we can get everything in place to serve you and your family to the best of our ability.
We require all of our volunteers working with children and those with a disability to pass a regular background check and to complete a Ministrysafe training to ensure we do everything we can to keep our kiddos protected and safe.
Serving in our ABLE Ministry includes being a one-to-one volunteer to a child with a disability; providing child care for parent meetings; organizing and supervising activities at respite nights; and serving our adults with disabilities.
We have age-specific gospel-centered programming for your whole family. These environments are safe and secure, as we have strict processes and procedures, including background checks for all volunteers.
We love and value families at Citizens Church. Our hearts are to raise up the next generation, teaching our children to love and follow Jesus the rest of their lives. That said, we know that raising kiddos can be challenging and tiring. That’s why we partner with parents, supporting you with care and resources that will help with family discipleship.
